The ombudsman is independent and not accountable to any state bodies and officials.Tatyana Moskalkova was awarded the Order of Honor, other state and departmental awards. On April 22, 2016, by the decision of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, she was appointed Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation.
