The QS-MAPLE 2018 conference and exhibition, the 8th Annual Strategic Summit for the Advancement of University Excellence in all its Forms successfully concluded on the 6 of March 2018 in Manama, Bahrain. The representatives of more than 70 universities from 40 countries attended in this important scientific and educational event.

Julia Ebzeeva, Natalia Gvozdeva, Natalia Dubinina, Irina Karabulatova represented RUDN University. The program of the conference included a master class on the methodology of QS rankings, discussions on strategic planning and research, internationalization and evaluation of the quality of education. This year RUDN University will host on the 22-23 of May 2018 the next international event, held by QS in Moscow - QS WorldWide 2018

The RUDN University delegation was greatly supported by Sahil Amarin (Jordan), graduate of the RUDN University Engineering Faculty (1992), currently heading a large trading company in Bahrain.

The role of fungi in maintaining tree diversity has been unraveled – a global study involving scientists from RUDN University

Forests are not only the lungs of the planet, but also home to millions of species. However, it has remained unclear how underground interactions between trees and fungi affect forest species richness in different climatic conditions. Previous studies have yielded conflicting results: in some regions, the dominance of certain fungi reduced tree diversity, while in others it increased it.
