The delegation from the People’s Republic of China visited RUDN University

On the 31 of October RUDN University Department of International Scientific and Educational Cooperation held an official meeting with the delegation from the People’s Republic of China.

At the oficial meeting participated representatives of the leadership of the philological faculty - Dean, Professor V.V. Barabash and Acting Deputy Dean for International Activities M.A. Talysheva. The delegation was led by the head of the Guangdong International Education Center, Huang Shaoman. The delegation also included professors and representatives of the leadership of Sun Yat-sen University  (http://www.sysu.edu.cn/2012/en/index.htm) and Hualian College. 

Sun Yat-sen University (Guangzhou Shi, Guangdong Sheng) is one of the largest public research universities in China, known worldwide and occupies 295 positions in the QS WUR. During the meeting took place an exchange of views on the cooperation of the philological faculty with Chinese universities, the prospects for the development of exchange programs for students and teachers, and future development of linguistic, scientific and cultural cooperation.

About 200 participants from Russia and 20 countries met at the National Interdisciplinary Scientific Seminar with International Participation “Law in Medicine. Medicine in Law: Points of Contact”. The subject was “Happy Motherhood: unsolved problems of obstetrics, gynaecology and perinatology”.

In 2017, RUDN University scientists constructed a new explicit second-order precision difference scheme using modern computer algebra methods for 2-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations (NSE) [1]. This year, our mathematicians used a new scheme [2] to construct a numerical solution to the Cauchy problem with initial data (for t=0) as satisfying the continuity equation. Scientists managed to achieve previously unattainable accuracy of the continuity equation.

5 million rubles for science: RUDN University named the winner of the university’s first prize in mathematics

Sergey Ivanov, a scientist from St. Petersburg, became the first winner of the RUDN University International Prize for scientific achievements and merits in the field of mathematics in the amount of 5 million rubles.
